    • 17 YEARS AND STILL GOING

Bought the 2000 Sienna in 1999 when the kids were still in baby car seats. It's 17 years later and the van still works great and even still looks good! Mechanically, it has been awesome. Absolutely no mechanical problems whatsoever. We have been dutiful in doing the major services recommended by Toyota, as well as keeping the oil changes, tire rotations, etc. up to date. We have had to replace the plastic door handles on the driver and passenger door, and the handle on the rear hatch as well. If that is all I can complain about in all this time, you can guess we have been pretty happy with this van. But, thats why we bought a Toyota in the first place. We have other newer Toyota's, but this is the one we get into for a long family trip, as it is the roomiest and most comfy for the family. AND, even with its age, still very secure and safe. Love my Toyota!

Over 300,000 miles and no major repairs. Parts are available for the little things like lights, door handles, etc that wore out.I hope it makes it another 100,000 as I can't think of any other car I would want.
    • This is why Toyota is always my favorite make

Okay! I may have exaggerated the all five star down the board thing, but not by much! This is a 23 year old Toyota Sienna that I found a great deal on via FB from a private seller. It only had 143000 on the odometer and a price tag well below the $2000 max I was set to pay. She wasn't/ isn't perfect. Like myself old but low mileage, First thing I had to replace all four tires, but that was worked into the price. This vehicle runs so smooth I love it!!! The motor train is solid! The engine and transmission still per like they're supposed to. I did have to replace the starter one month after driving it, but that was relatively inexpensive and pretty easy to change out. Now the plastic parts all around the vehicle, seem to be randomly breaking, cracking, or just snapping off. I guess that's expected in a vehicle that's screen 23 Summers and winners of extreme temperatures. Dry rot I guess. The parts I'm speaking of so far, have been, both inside door handles, the small plastic piece that covers the air conditioner on button, the passenger side mirror cover, broke off about halfway down, while going through a car wash, There The plastic handle in the back passenger side seat that's used to recline, has stripped out. The plastic clips that hold the "Hood's support rod" have totally disintegrated. That might have been more of a detailed list the necessary and I'm not complaining, but if you're looking to purchase a 1998 Sienna this gives you an idea of what to expect. One last note I have replaced the entire stereo system on vehicle, but that was really a small expense and actually a fun project. I'm pretty sure my van at one time had automatic sliding doors, but at some point of its life the motors have been taken out. But with that said the doors do slide back and forth smoothly and lock into place where they're supposed to. The power locks are still working, but can stick occasionally. There is moderate rust on the bottom frame, I'm assuming the van was probably being used up north somewhere. And finally there are a few chips in the paint all around, especially around the hood and a couple of big ones on the side, but overall the paint still looks like it's in pretty good condition. I recently noticed brakes beginning to squeak, I'll have to look in to see up with that. But office issues are small and inexpensive. It's never let me down in the 9 months I have owned it. I feel confident that it's going to start with no problems every time I get in it. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase. I've got it cleaned up, it smells good, it looks good. I have the stereo upgraded and sounds great! it's one of my better purchases that I made in the last few years. I personally, highly, recommend any Toyota at 150,000 miles! You're just barely broken her in at those miles. I wouldn't be surprised if this van outlived me and I'm 62. Thank you for staying with me till the end.
